DT, as Jab3 pointed out the water is dropping so fast that by the time they got around to putting the closure in place the water would be gone. I live on Black River in Clarendon county and water has dropped over a foot since yesterday afternoon. By the first of next week it will be no different than during a wet fall/winter.
What's the point now? Couldn't time be better spent like looking into some of the additions to the tag bill that have been suggested?

Also, did you get clarification if closure would be for deer only or all game?

This water will take weeks to filter down to the coast. They just opened up additional locks and are pouring more down the Santee. They are concerned with a lot more affected areas than just your side of the Black River.

DT listed Black River as one of the areas to be closed. Don't try so dang hard to find something wrong.

    ^^That's laughable.

The Black River doesn't end at I-95 by the way. When I looked on Google I saw it empties into Georgetown.

Only closed 2 WMAs. 7 other WMA are closed to vehicles only - walk in hunters are still welcome. This was a long thread for not much news.

This thread is possibly the biggest gem of 2015.

    Keep at it guys
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Seeing these soulless vanilla ice lookin Yankees on a bassboat is worse than watching a woman get her implants taken out. It's just wrong. Get back in your Lund and go back to infisherman.
