I ain't a Pee Dee boy and don't why that is relevant. Any how I made one today that rocked the boat. Here is what you do:

Use chicken thighs only and boil till me comes off the bone. Save the broth.
Fry up some breakfast sausage links(better than smoked sausage imho), cut to small pieces and add when you put the white rice in.
Bring left over broth and any needed water to a boil, throw in rice, sausage and chicken, cook to when rice is done.
You can also add onion to the mix if you wish.

    Thank me later.

Strike the onion and breakfast sausage.

Next thing you know one of you will be putting sugar on your grits.

So many variations. I use yeller rice, onions, and smoked sausage.

    And, well, chicken.

Man I love some chicken bog but here lately my go to has been back bone and rice. It's simple and hard to beat.

1 Whole chicken ..boiled with 1/2 stick of butter and deboned
    2 large onions chopped fine
    3 stalks celery chopped fine
at least 1 lbs smoked sausage cut thin and browned
    3 large Bay leaves
1 tablespoon or more of fresh black Pepper
    a little Tony's seasoning
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    salt to taste

save 9 cups of broth from chicken add all ingredients bring to boil
stir in 4 cups rice and cover on low heat for 30 min

Similar to Paula Deen's recipe. Which is pretty much on point.

Cholula. Trust me. Petey is a good reliable standby.

Also, avoid onions. Makes it spoil faster than the average bear.

I dont understand how people can screw up boiling chicken and cooking rice.

Tapatio and cholula are both good. My roofers introduced me to it 8 years ago or so.
