I could think of a lot worse places to be during a lightning storm - it's way better than crouching in a field with your feet close together. How much they attenuate an RF signal has to do with the thickness of the metal and whether it is a odd or even multiple of a half wavelength.

I reckon it depends on how tall your ladder is and whether or not you wanna paint the ceiling.

Once these assholes in the GA get with the program, I want to build levels, install grow lights, hydroponics, and get after selling high quality pot to drug addicts.

By "help" I mean loot your stash from time to time.

It is certainly better that nothing or a wooden structure but I would not count on it being radiation free. Long waves can certainly come through galvanized steel of that gauge. As for great uses of silos, Campbell Cox has one converted to a guest house on his farm and it is about a cool as it gets. Of course getting a head start on your plantings with cool burning LED grow lights would certainly be another use for them as well. You must really like early tomatoes....MG

Oww, oww, you can put a single spark plug at the top, move it to the center of the field you want to plant and plant the whole field at once; single use only.

the frame of a car creates a faraday cage as well. That why you're safe from lightning inside a car, not because of the rubber tires.
