Good stuff, I only recently heard of him but I like everything I've heard there.
    One of my favorites..

Sturgill is definitely a throw back and I have and listen to all of his stuff. I like him but I'm not blown away with his "authenticity."

Isbell, on the other hand, blows me away. I'm not sure I'd classify much of his stuff as country.

Sturgill singing some Lefty Frizzell/ Kieth Whitley in the original video posted.

This is another good one, I believe this is a song that The Stanley Brothers (Carter and Ralph) used to sing.

Going to see him end of Sept. in Asheville. Check out Whitey Morgan and the 78's also going to be in Spartanburg in November. Jason Boland, Turnpike Troubadours, Piedmont Boys, Charlie Robinson or just turn on the Texas Red Dirt station on Pandora or Spotify.

He's incredible. Southeastern and his new album are great. Even his old stuff is good, and of course his time with the Drive By Truckers.

He's country, folk, and Americana. Still more country than anything on the radio.

Chris Knight is doing a few shows in NC and SC early Nov. Check out his website or add him on Facebook. Him and Jamey Johnson are the only two I will go see when they are in town.

I got to see Jamey Johnson at a small theatre on Spindale, NC back in June, what a show. He will be at the Filmore in Charlotte soon, but its standing room only.

I am a huge truckers fan but didn't think much of Isbell's first two records. The third one- after he gave up the drink- is fantastic. He is the odd one who actually needed to quit drinking to make good music again.
