    Default Scope for .17

I picked up a Marlin XT-17V on Saturday and I'm looking for a decent but not to expensive scope for it. I really can't go above $125 right now. I've been looking around the 'net and a lot of people seem to like the BSA sweet 17 3-9x40. Anyone have experience with these or another suggestion?

Plan to use it for small game, a little target shooting and possibly for short range hogs (small ones).

I asked the same question a few weeks ago if you want to do a search. I ended up with a Nikon 4-12X40 but haven't sighted in yet. It was $183 at Planet Optics.

I bought my .17 from CCLeroy on here.

It came with a Sweet 17 on it. It's been very accurate for me.

Found your post. I think I'll just go ahead and get the sweet 17. Thanks!

The finish on my Sweet 17 started becoming very sticky. It started collecting fiber from the inside of the gun case and then became fuzzy. Other folks have had the problem.

I took that off and put a Bushnell 3-9*50 deer rifle scope on that I picked up here on SCDUCKS' trading post and have had better results than the BSA. Remarkably better.

I've got a Bushnell Banner .17 Super on mine. Couldn't be happier. Superior to BSA imo.

I think I still have the BSA 17 scope if anyone wants it. Let me know and you can come and get it.

I saw too many bad reviews on the BSA 17 for my liking.

I picked up the BSA last night. We'll see how it works out. Was $60 so I won't lose too much if I don't like it or it craps out on me..
