I checked it recently and read that it is OK to have a loaded pistol in your unlocked console or glove box.

The only problem is that we don't yet have reciprocity. Hopefully that will change one of these days.

We don't have reciprocity with Georgia but if you've got your SC CWP, you can apply for a non-resident CWP from Florida and it's good over a lot of the southeast including Georgia.

Go to www.packing.org and you can find the answers to questions for all states.

As far as GA goes, no, they do not recognize SC's CWP. However, I have a New Hampshire non-resident permit and that allows me to carry in GA.

The NH permit was super easy to get. Go to the state's site, DL the form, fill out the two pieces of paper, and mail it. I got mine within 2-3 weeks.

Oh, on the application, it asks why you want the permit. At first, I said so I could carry in GA. They sent it back and told me, with a Post-It note, to put "self-protection" on that line. I did that and they followed up promplty w/ my permit.
