    Any ideas on good youth model 20 gauge. Looking to get one for my daughter

    I bought a kid a model 12 20 gauge the other day.
    They say the only time a fishermen tells the truth is when he tells you another fisherman is a liar.

    I bought a 870 youth in 20ga at Christmas and I love it. My son will too as soon as he's big enough to shoot it

    a friend of mine, 51 now, shot a 870 youth model 20 gauge on a dog drive last year because he left is shotgun at home and the SOB killed 3 deer.

    I like the idea of a pump gun for learning how to shotgun... it makes the first (every) shot count way more.

    Academy had the youth 870s for 289 at Christmas. Haven't checked their prices since but I'm pretty sure that was the normal price. If I'm not mistaken the Mossberg was slightly cheaper. Either one is a good choice IMO

    I own both. Both are good guns. I will say it's easier to find accessories for the 870 much easier than for the Mossy

    I'll probably catch a lot of slack, but oh well. I bought a 20ga NEF Pardner pump in the compact version and love it. It's a little on the heavy side, but for $200 out the door I don't think you can beat it. They are pretty much a clone of the 870.

    I agree , don't start with a 410, use a 20 gauge.

    I still shoot my youth 870... Its my go to gun for rabbits and most dove shoots... I love that thing..
