My wife and I are taking a short vacation up to DC in May. Besides the smithsonian museums and the national mall, what else is a MUST do?

We ate at Ruth chris's right behind ******* airport in Arlington. Best view for me. Watching planes land and seeing Potomac river while looking at Washington monument. All from one chair.

Ride metro subway. Get a feel of torque that electric motors make. Those things get up to speed so dang fast.

The National Zoo is great. There are many good local eateries if you read up on TripAdvisor.

Great tips already. Arlington is a must.

I always liked the FBI Museum, the Vietnam Memorial, and the National Archives ( where the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights) are stored.

My youngest daughter goes again next month. I wish I was going with . I could spend a week there easily.
