So, "if you can't beat em join em?" Wouldn't that make you a skybuster yourself?

My intuition was correct. Now please correct your original post to contain the truth.

I took about a 45 yard shot. Bought as far as I want to shoot. Got blasted on and were checking out. I didn't ride down there not to let my gun bark! Y'all fellas have fun down there! Everyone needs to go try it out this weekend and leave the other public water alone! It's off the hook!!!

And, yes, I got my ass shot in there, too... by a moondick. I think Gander was walking in behind me or in front of me when it happened. Lone gadwall came in on the shallow end and the lunar penis across from us shot at it low.

Don't think this turned out how he thought it would.

You had the predictable crew back then. The ones that parked on the hill, like us, and did the Bataan Death March down with their gear. Then you had the ones that came by river. You had our little band, "Jimmy Dean" and his merry band of sky busters, the usual group of young kids, and the cranky dude that camped at the far end and got pissed if you even looked at setting up within 200 yards. The bank was lined with lights "holding spots", and there were two dozen people in there hunting ring necks with six to a dozen cheap mallard decoys...

... and our group that won by overwhelming force of decoys.

Nope! I've got better sense than to do what we use to do for a wood duck. Hell man all you have to do is look at the bird harvest report and that tells you all you need to know. Why would I go there to fight to shoot a wood duck when I can do that without any stress elsewhere???

Now if it were like it was when it looked like a beaten hornets nest just before legal shooting time then I might consider going down there and show those Moondicks how to hunt it.

We killed a few Mallards in there too but those jokers would get wacked at the second they topped the tree line. Jimmy Dean and his crew would sky bust the hell out of anything that didn't decend out of the sky like a rocket.

Here was one of the days we got a Mallard

I was about to post that same pic. I think that was the last time I hunted it. I was out picking up a ringer and that mallard committed suicide over ya'll. I think I had three ringers down and killed three more while picking up the third one, limiting out in like 15 minutes.
