I was looking at building a duck pond, and started pricing wells. I was told to go with a 8" screen well. Is this how everyone is flooding there ponds? Any advise would be greatly appreciated

In the upstate, they are charging about $20/foot for 6" then an additional $20/ft to ream the well out to 8". I have seen 6" wells that were producing 150gpm double their production when they are stepped up to 8" but also have seen it not change the flow at all.
6" seems big, but I guess it depends on how much you want to spend, what type pump you want and how quickly you want it filled?
