    Default This setup...

Is giving me no firm bulb atall for the first time ever. CANNOT get fuel pushed up to the motor. I did fill the new filter completely with fuel before installing. Pickup tube in tank is in good shape. Please diagnose.

Is there gas in the tank?

Is the o-ring on the filter in good shape? And aren't there two o-rings on the little fitting that goes into the gas tank?

Looks like bulb is in right directon, correct? Otherwise you got an air leak on the filer assembly.

Try it with the bulb aligned vertically vice the horizontal alignment like it is in the picture. If it works when you do turn it vertically then you need to take that POS bulb off and go buy a mercury bulb and install it. Cheap bulbs DO NOT like a horizontal orientation.

Why is your engine sitting all cadywhompered like that? Is it on a saw horse to paint or just fucked up? If all fittings are tight bad bulb. I've had bulb on my Scout 'lose the prime" so to speak and after squeezing it for what seemed like 5 minutes it finally caught and pulled fuel through.

Ha! It's just turned. It's on a CMC PT-35 so maybe sitting up a bit makes it look like that.

I can occasionally hear it gurgle in the tank - but not on every squeeze of the bulb. It'll gurgle once or twice, then nothing. Normally it'll tighten right up after 2-3 squeezes.

I'm wondering if all the fittings shouldn't just be changed out. Hell, I've done everything else to the boat as far as PM goes lately, so I might as well change them out too, I reckon.

Try the line without the water separator Bolt.
Process of elimination....Hate to say so but Tater is right, some bulbs need to be hanging vertically.

Did you try what Tater suggested? That is the case with most primer bulbs. Laying flat the flapper or valve doesnt close after a squeeze enough to reprime. I have a brand new Merc bubble I bring to Run just in case.

Is the arrow on the bulb pointing towards the motor?

Screw an attwood! Go get you a mercury hose and bulb! I bought 2 new in the box attwood gas lines from the Walmart that were both faulty. Not saying that is it but it's the easiest variable to correct.

This nullifies you as a credible source of information.

Squeeze, hold for a few seconds and let go(repeat)...Make sure your vent is open. Make sure your plug is clipped really good on the motor (if you have the cheap quick connects the tap can bend and it wont seal good) Eyeball all your little hoses on the motor, try another tank if you got one, the pick up will crack and do the same thing.
