The bream in my pond won't eat crickets readily. They act like they've never seen one and ignore them. They are trained to the automatic feeder though and feed on a schedule. It took them a while to figure out the food pellets when I started. I need to find a way to train them to eat bugs. They will hit a small frog fly.

I tied some fish pellet flies that were deadly at first but the fish learned to tell the difference quickly. I can still fool them by chumming with real pellets and throwing the fly amongst the chaos.

I carried a mess home last weekend and fried them up. I had forgotten how good fried bream are.

Summer time is fried bream time.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

My bro n laws family has a pond that's on a feeder. I've found that puting the cricket about 4-6" below the cork will make them hit.
