Default Great day on the pond

Took the 3 year old after church and we slipped away for a few hours to wet a line at the farm pond. Had his little buddy and his dad from up the street tag along for the fun. The fish were tight lipped for most of the day. Easton and I have a deal when he fishes with me. I get the strike, set the hook and pass the rod to him to fight the fish.

Well about an hour into the day throwing a black spro frog fish number 4 absolutely exploded the lillypads (like somebody smacked the water with a boat paddle). I reel down, give it a 2 count and set the hook. I knew a grown one had taken the frog but a deals a deal so I passed the road to little man. He worked this fish for a good 10 minutes which included 3 attempts at throwing the hook. Little man got it to the boat and I was able to get a thumb in its mouth.

We snapped a pic, E touched it's fin and said, "bye bye buddy, I'll catch you again next week". We let it go and continued with our day.

Boated 8, missed another 5/6ish all in 2 hours.

Pics don't do it justice. It was a pig

    Damn right!

We attempted to drown a cricket today. Wind was not in our favor and timing wasn't right. We decided to attempt it later and never made it back.

That right there is a nice fish!
