    Default Season Checklist

    I had some things I wanted to accomplish this season, and most are just things that usually happen, so I try to ensure they happen, so it feels like turkey season. I hop a jet plane tomorrow for CO, KS and NE, so the bonus round hasn't started.



    1) Get Jacob a turkey - check




    2) Kill some turkeys - check




    3) Call one for someone new - check




    4) Kill the one that my shell failed on last year - check




    5) Call a bird for my dad - check (2nd leg of his slam)




    6) Miss a turkey - check



    7) Double with someone - pending (would have if not for #6)




    8) Take a trip with someone new - check




    9) 20 gauge Grand Slam - Merriams pending




    10) Have one that will haunt me tip next year - check (had another shell failure on a gimme)



    11) Watch as many sunrises as possible - check


    12) Take THIS picture

    What shells are misfiring? be damned if I would shoot anything I could not trust. Good luck out west dude.

    They are TSS. We think we know the problem. I've never had any issue with the 12, its the 20's that poof. After rattling them around in your gun/vest/pocket for a while, the powder gets a little loose and sounds like a roman candle. I hope that big bastard in Dalzell that gobbled every step for 300 yards and triple gobbled at 25 when I clucked at him knows how fortunate he is.
