i just dont know if one batter will run all that shit for long enough. i have pull start on my motor so thats no issue, but i would like to get atleast 3-4 hours out of a battery charge at .5-.75 volume.... motor is electric start so it will charge the battery while its running.

Wow... This thread took off a bit since I last checked it. Didn't know there were so many car stereo people on here.

Here's the latest. The little 300 watt just wasn't doing it so I bought a 1200 watt Kicker running 2 channels at 300 watt each at 4 ohms (which is what the speakers are rated at). The two Polk 12" are in a sealed box and it sounds great. Not too "boomy" or overpowering at low to moderate volumes but can still shake the filling out of your teeth if you want to throw the juice to it. No distortion whatsoever unlike the other amp. Just good clean tight bass. Just how I wanted it.

im reading that the sundown sa8s dont do well in a sealed box. and a ported box would be too large for my liking. any of yall have any experience with sa8s in a small sealed box?

awesome. thanks. according to my calculations, i can run an 11x11x10 box outside dimensions. i can stick that under the seat no problem.

    THANKS MAN.

I COPIED THIS FROM THE WEBSITE SO SOUNDS LIKE THE TICKET...

The parameter set has been optimized for very small sealed enclosures ranging from 0.25 to 0.50 cubic feet. This makes the SD-2 8" the best 8" woofer in our line, and the only one I suggest, for sealed enclosures.

Power wire looks a little small from the picture for 1200watts. What size is it? Do you have a problem with dimming lights? I have always been a fan of sealed enclosures sound. If you want your windows to move in and out 2 inches and do hair tricks ported is the way to go.

Damn B, that's rocking I'm sure. I haven't had subs in quite a few years and most of the time I don't miss them at all but every once in a while I miss the extra boom.

I had 2 JL W3 12s for a while and they sounded great. Nice clean bass with zero rattle and/or distortion.
