Probably a training duck. A lot of dog photos like that are staged and not during hunts but photo ops

You've got one life. Blaze on!
You ever seen a tamie that looked that healthy? That mallard has a neck and head like a tree.

That whole section of the magazine is about training I belive. Probably a training bird.
"I'm just a victim of a circumstance"
In looking at the picture in the magazine this morning the bird did not remind of the genetic degenerates that are so popular in this state. Sure I have killed some big old fat tamies but this bird looks like the big fat Canadian reared mallards I have killed in MT, not the greasey pieces of shit I have killed in SC. Just an observation on my part.
Birds like these

Man and other animals were first vegetarians; then Noah and his sons were given permission to eat meat: “every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you” Genesis 9:3
"A man may not care for golf and still be human, but the man who does not like to see, hunt, photograph or otherwise outwit birds or animals is hardly normal. He is supercivilized, and I for one do not know how to deal with him." Aldo Leopold
I bang my ahead against a wall at least once a day... but I am in too deep now to go back.

Way too deep....
not quite that deep just yet.... but pretty damn deep... and I already asked 1000 times in every imaginable way and keep getting the same answer. I must not be a good salesman....

It was actually a bit of a test. I think it's the end of the toe bone sticking out not a nail - I've seen tamies with the clipped toe that looks exactly like this - almost like the end of a shelled sunflower seed.
The good toe has more lobe and a longer black nail.
