    Default Neutralizing Fish Meal

During Shrimping season my evil dog got a hold of a bag of fish meal under my barn. The shit got every where and I did my best to clean it up, but I have stone down so getting it up was next to impossible.

Well, here we are three months later and it smells like death warmed over still. The area does not get any rain/water, so it just sits mixed up with a bunch of recylced concrete.

Will spreading some lime out help neutralize the smell?

    If not, what will?

Hey Will. Just try it, seriously. If not rub it down with toothpaste.

I think I'd try to water it regularly for a few days when it gets warm enough. It will stink like crazy for a while but as least it will go away sooner. If you leave it dry, any bit of moisture isl going to refresh it.

I learn a few years ago that fish meal becomes toxic waste. Throw it out at the end of shrimping season because keeping it around is too dangerous.

I bet it was Steg's idea so he didn't have to chip in for it next year.

Pro-Tip: Use a shop vac with extension tubes. With the hose sized tube it will not pick up rocks but will pick up everything else.

The lime will not work in the absence of moisture, but lime will work if you are willing to wet it and deal will the odor for a day or so. Good luck, MG

Wait a month or so, and the fireants will clean it up for you.

Thanks, continuous water with a little bleach is a good idea. It really is the worst smelling stuff in the world.

Don't know but charcoal is supposed to neutralize odor, baking soda solution maybe.Worse come to worse ,deep fry some french fries, poor the cookin oil over the site ,pour some on vinegar and at least it'll smell like fish and chips.
