I was hoping that it was a bad picture, that the fish wasn't already done, and that he was placed back in the ocean to swim off and fight another day.

But you're right, he does look stripped of color and I'm sure the hole in his side didn't help.

We stayed at the Hard Rock resort for our honeymoon, 2 years ago. It was an awesome all-inclusive resort with a Brazilian steakhouse, Japanese steakhouse, and casino onsite. Zip lining is a must and we also did a Dominican experience tour that takes you up to an organic village, through the city of Punta Cana, and then to a secluded beach. If you want to see how the people in the Dominican live, I would recommend the DR experience tour.

ECU, I did the "experience tour"; I try to always do a similar tour wherever I go. I don't understand people who travel hundreds of miles away and then don't leave the resort...

Colt is dying to swim with a damned dolphin. I'm seriously thinking of just pushing him overboard down in Georgetown and tell him I just saved him $200.

What you gonna do with cash when you leave the resort, stick it in your bag's when you fly or just carry around a wad everywhere you go. Not me.

We stayed at Dreams Punta Cana 2 years ago for 7 days, the 1500ft lazy pool around the 3 bars is pretty relaxing. The food was really good, the service was outstanding. Having a first floor room swim out, was neat as hell, as was all the topless sunbathers from Germany. The rooms were nice as hell.

The cave is a must see there, a money grab by the locals, but an amazing natural rock formation. I would also recommend an atv or dune buggy trip to a coffee and vanilla plantation. Hand made coffee fresh off the limb, what what!

I have also ran out of white vanilla. It is the best cooking vanilla eva, the only place I can find it is in the DR. Pancakes with out them are just plain...

Oh, take baseballs for the kids, its solid gold.

My wolverine boots are also from the DR......

Bookit was the best deal we could find at the time.

Stayed at Excelence in Punta Canta. Had a good time. Food wasn't very good and Atlantic side was windy and ruff. Went snorkeling on Carribean side which was nice. Clear calm tropical water. The Atlantic side where the resort was wasn't much more than MB. Spent most of my time by pool and bar. That's my only out the country trip. When I go again it want be DR. It's cheaper than a lot of others but I hear others are a lot better.

IIRC, you have to declare anything over $9,999.99 leaving/returning to the US.

It was cheap as shit. Basically, I'm paying for airfare and eating/drinking/staying for free.

I read about 60-80 reviews and came to the conclusion that there was an approximate 78% approval rating.

It was IFA Villas Bavaro. Price was $599. That was all taxes/fees/bullshit. That's the end price. All-inclusive, of course. Premium beverages not included.

I've got mixed feelings about the resort, but oh well. It is what it is -- a cheap vacation.

Cheap and vacation don't usually go hand in hand, but I wish you the best. I'll be waiting for the summary when you get back. If you don't use the word ass-raped in the first paragraph I'll consider booking myself.

I did the same 10 years ago. Food was below average. Facilities were great. You can go to town and watch fellas dig ditches with pic axes and rock piled up beside them. Pro-tip, don't try to wrastle a fella what digs ditches with a pic axe

I have a decent idea of what I'm gettin' into. The resort is ranked (IIRC) #41 outta 108. So, it's a middle of the road thing, I do believe...

I'm going in with an open mind. It'll be about the same price as something close by, and my kid will have the chance to make some great memories and my parents will be there to share them.

Get a bottle of mamajuana while you're there and make sure they explain what mamajuana is good for.
