5 days 1-5 guns each day 61 ducks. Bird just are not there in numbers yet like they should be even with the cold weather and snow and ice. We had a couple of pretty good day in there with 23 one day 16 another and I killed a nice limit of 4 mallards and 2 shovlers in the slet yesterday with a double banded greenhead.Started home yesterday in the slet and it took me 6 hours to drive what should have taken 2 hours.

DM #1- we had similar results.

We took the iniative and worked on some geese since the ducks were few.

I kid yall not, due to Icy conditions locking up the fields, we hunted a Catfish pond Monday evening that overlooks Claypool's. We limited x4 on a mixed bag of ducks - a place where I have watched 10's of thousands of Mallards go to roost, bet we didn't see 500.

It's that bad. I don't know the reason- no snow, too much food, robo, lack of imprinting, refuges, etc,etc ,ad nauseum but the birds are just not there.

I am worried. We spoke to a Delta biologist and he said the Mississippi Flyway may be damaged beyond recovery.

I will be back there around Jan 10th......... We will see if it's changed.

It's a sad thing to witness.
