If I'm correct it looks like you have one from the late Lester Capps.

I saw a Starks olt on eBay not to long ago that was pushing close to 200 dollars. Last time I checked he will cut one for a respectable fee. I imagine the guys bidding on it didn't have a clue and more than likely were part of the "Bo" crowd you speak of Nitro.

I use a olt keyhole as my hunting call. People say that they are only good in the woods but I disagree. One lanyard and one call is all you need really. These guys kill me that show up and walk around with a lanyard with 9 calls on it.

You Sir, are correct. Circa 2000.

Only one he ever gave me. Not many of them floating around. I was offered a considerable chunk of change for the call on more than one instance.

I believe it. Don't see many of those at all. I know one other guy that was offered a large amount of cash and a old ford ranger for one. His response was No thanks.

The interested party wanted it so he could measure and cut a "Lester Style" insert....

    I had to decline.

Lester actually had a gig that he used to cut his calls with. I have one cut from it also. IMHO the key to a cut down call is either changing your blowing style completly to match the style of the cutter or to be present when the call is cut and have the cutter match your style(which takes a heck of a cutter to do).
Become one with nature then marinate it.

I watched him cut, file and sand mine- by hand...

He also scratched his name into the insert.... No copy here...

I know one thing, in the right man's hands a cut-down will put mallards in the hole in timber. I have never tried it here in SC or anywhere but the AR timber. Never even thought to use one anywhere else.

A cut-down in the timber has a distinctive ring to it. It's like it bounces off the trees and water and gets louder. If you know what one sounds like you know it when you hear someone using one in the woods.

guy I am thinking of is notorious for "replicating" older calls, even ebonizes the wood and puts file marks on it to make them look old. Many a new collector has been fooled into thinking they were getting the real deal.

It's an "Arkansas thing". If you have ever heard someone blowing one, especially if they are standing on the same tree as you, you will never forget it. I had a headache for a week!
