    My wife makes a hell of a roast and an incredible whole chicken in the crock pot, among a few other things, but this was my first attempt. I already tolt y'all I failed miserably. What else do you want from me?!?!?

    people badmouth a crockpot. its just a damn pot...just like the one on your stove but its electric and keeps the temp steady.

    I think with less juice, you would've had a better product. I feel certain it needed flavor. tater might be right in that you could chop it all up and put it back in the crockpot. take the juices and thicken them up and put them back in. and let er ride.

    granted, a little BROWN rice wont kill you or make you a diabetic or whatever the paleo freaks think.

    Yes it will.

    I'll work on salvaging it tonight. Maybe. I knew better than to just toss that raw pork in without browning it first - not sure what I was thinking. Bay leaves are a given in just about any soup/stew. It needs some fat too, for sure. Stock would certainly be preferred, but I got lazy (didn't want to go to the store at 10pm or make my own) and hoped the other ingredients would take care of themselves. They let me down.

    It didn't make me proud. I just ask for your forgiveness. Well, everybody but Lab. He can kiss my ass.
