Default Pork stew - a pictorial

Alright. So I'm crock pottin' tonight for my lunch tomorrow. I have no idea how this is gonna turn out - we'll see in the morning. Me thinks it's gonna be purty tasty.

1 BIG vidalia - coarse chopped. My saturation was off (maybe the f-stop wasn't right), but just picture a big vidalia onion chopped up coarse-like.

1 butternut squash - cubed up after cooking whole at 375 for an hour

Part of a Costco pork loin that I had cut into chops and frozen. Thawed and cut into chunks.

1 bunch of celery cut up into big parts.

Spices - including but not limited to: fresh ground pepper, sea salt, oregano, basil, nutmeg, and crushed red pepper.

    Almost covered in water.

Set on low. Make me proud....

Yep and some rice would have been good as well. Better luck next time.

It turned out just like I thought it would, bitches. More of a soup, not a stew. And rice is for quitters.

So I just ate this. I'm no stewmaker.

I'll finish it - but it needs "something else".

And yeah, BCR3, I'm ALL IN.

Low Sodium Chicken Broth would of helped out a good bit instead of the water.

Browning the pork in a skillet and then lightly cooking the vegies in the cooked out fat might a helped too.

What it needs is to be refrigerated and then put back in the crockpot with the drippings/trimmings from a boston butt.

Bay leaf or two would have done the trick.

I meant to add a couple of bay leaves and absolutely straight up forgot about 'em.

I think I'm now on a mission to salvage what's left. Chess, I wanted to use chicken stock, but I had nurn in the kitchen - so I tried to make it work - and failed worser than the chickens did Sairdee.

    Drippings, you say?? Hmmmmmmm.....
