When NASCAR decided they were too big for Rockingham, Wilkesboro, and 2 races at Darlington, only to cater to big city folk and California fags riding a fad... That said, I still watch, still go to Darlington and Charlotte, but the best racing by far these days is the truck series.

NASCAR wanted to make everything a even playing field, so they designed the "car of tomorrow". The reason that's a big deal is that design as well as the current design is a "common template" car. This means all cars are measured the same, there is no difference in manufacture brands, they go through tech using the same template to take measurements. If you remember how boring the old Race of Champion races or the IROC series, this is the same thing. Only difference now is power plants and who can make more HP under the rules. That coupled with most tracks going to a progressive banking has made races boring. They messed up by forgetting where they came from.
