Default As though I needed another addiction...

My boss surprised myself and three of my co workers with a guided Striper trip on Hartwell today. I've caught stripers by accident before in the 5 or 6 pound range, but this dude put us on some serious fish. We arrived at our spot about 6:45 this morning, and before the guide had baited mine and another guy's line the first two already had rods bowed. Between 4 people we had caught 38 fish (we kept 20)in 1-1/2 hrs. There's something to be said for raring back to set a hook and coming to a dead stop because the slab on the other end just ain't coming that easy. I got a few pics I'll try to post.

Travis Long was the guide, and I figure it should only cost me about $60,000 to do it right on my own.

What part of the lake was you on? Don't need exact location, just general area. (Dam, saddlers, portmans, coneross)

Been out of the loop since spring, looking to start at dam next week.

All I can say for sure is that we left from Portman and went pretty close to the dam. I was too busy scoping out all the islands for future camping excursions. Keep in mind, I can get lost in my back yard with a compass and a GPS.

Travis Long, is without a doubt, the best guide on Hartwell. He knows that lake forwards and backwards. Glad you had a great time.

I would be more concerned with the beak.
