Another good thing with the penetration ...the TSS is much "harder" than the hevi and doesn't deform when fired ...they stay spherical and are able to penetrate better

I don't go to write poetry and soak up the scenery. I go to murder shit.

All this mashin' talk has me on a mission. I'm building a 20 ga rig this year and will feed it this stuff come hell or high water.

    Tweet that right there.

I've never shot one. Always have had the 3 dot fiber optic traditional sights. Helps me keep my noggin on the stock.

    But I may entertain it.

With the red dot who gives a fuck if your cheek is on the stock? Dot on turkey, pull trigger, pack up calls, walk over and stomp turkey.

Velocity is not as important with tss as it is with other shot because of the density. My 28ga loads are only 1000 fps and I wont hesitate to shoot one at 50 yards. I know of a few that have been killed over 50 with the same load. The pic I posted earlier was one I shot with the 28 ga at 42 steps. Complete pass through the neck and head.

As for the data I use the 12ga loads are running at 1230 fps and the 20ga loads around 1075 fps. High velocity is not necessary with tss. Boozer had the same concearn in the begining. Ask him now what he thinks.

This is the first year that I went with a red dot...Burris ff2 on speed bead mount. It's nasty!! Red dot on turkey haid = game over. Doesn't matter if gun is canted or head is up

I went with the speed was mount versus the 336 mount bc I can still use the factory bead if sight malfunctions

If you're gonna go the TSS route I would def go with red dot

I think everyone in this thread, sans Walph is somewhere on the spectrum from somewhat anal to very anal about what they shoot at turkeys. I shoot "a few" -AG each year and really pay attention to the violence with which the shot hits the turkey. Prior to TSS, 3.5" nitros and 3.5" extended range were FAR superior to anything I had seen. This stuff is right there, but it is 3" 20 ga.

I'm a firm believer, and I hunt too hard to not be confident in what I am slinging. It shoots through brush, it hits like a ton of bricks, and it allows you to carry a light gun that has very little recoil. Its the tits.
