If you were going to till some dirt so the birds woud have some fresh tilled dirt, when would you do it? I was thinking maybe late Febuary then run disc over it again to freshen it say a week before the opener.

    Any ideas?

    What is the intended purpose?

I usually spend my preseason time looking and listening.

If you are to do anything tractor related, I would recommend bush hogging.

After greenup, the hens(and gobblers) will bug in the areas where insects are easily caught. Not to mention these areas become prime strut zones.

Thanks Nitro on the bushhogging advice, good idea. Intended purpose on the plowed dirt is to attract. I thought birds liked fresh turned dirt?

Well I could plow to my hearts content, but was going to do small areas and long fire breaks. It was just a thought.
