hell yea they do. had a female cardinal hopping down the road in front of me turkey hunting the other day. I was thinking shed eventually pick up and fly off but she never did. I eventually caught up with her and i reached down to pick her up and set her on a limb and she bit the fuk out of me. Finger started bleeding a little. Still picked her up and put her on a limb and the she glided off... Stupid Bitch.

    PUDDY-T,
Those look like indigo buntings, you're lucky. They hit feeders in early spring but usually quit once they start raising a brood.

Yes, definitely Indigos. There were three yesterday afternoon, and I saw two this morning.

During my old job we banded 100's of Indigos and Grossbeaks.

Cardinals and Grossbeaks know exactly where your cuticle meets your fingernail and that is where they like to latch on to.

    Surprised you didn't cull them.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

You need to grease them, they won't be so squeaky.

I have several painted and indigo buntings that visit us. I really look forward to seeing them each year.
