    Default Hot Sauce

Trying my hand at making my own hot sauce. Starting with a small amount so I can tweak the flavor. Combination of Jalapeño and Serrano peppers plus some garlic and sugar.

Will let it sit for a week and stir daily. Then I will add some vinegar and bring to a boil and puree in the food processor.

I'll be watching to see how this turns out. I've been interested in doing some myself

Thanks I will let you know how it turns out. I am working in small batches at first. The first batch I will split into several jars. One with the sauce plus vinegar, salt, and pepper. One will be the same except I will strain out the seeds, and the last one I will strain out the seeds and add a tomato.

I picked up several variety of heirloom peppers today so I can experiment with different pepper combinations including mixing some hot and some sweet varieties.

Once I get a good recipe base I want to try fermenting some peppers.

i made probably 15 jars of it last year and i bet i havent eaten 5 jars. i like it, i just dont eat it often.

ive also got 32 tomato plants planted, so thats the main reason i started so many pepper plants, so i would have plenty peppers for making salsa, and to add into my pickled okra..... i started them from seeds and didnt figure they would all make it, but so far i havent lost a single one.
