While I will say kudos for coming clean I must beg to differ with your assessment of the situation.

I agree with Bowfin. You KNOWINGLY shot the bird that was standing in someone else's road. You go to great lengths to minimize the action.

While I did indeed break a law or two growing up the key point is "growing up".

By your own account you are indeed BOTH a trespasser AND a poacher.

    Default coming clean

Adam, I'm glad you came clean and forfeited your chance to enter any birds in the contest this year.

Above all, what you did was dangerous, but I'm not gonna beat this horse.

Now, get back to doin why you do best, roadrunning and bushwhacking.

Well, you fucked up. Who here hasn't at some point in their life? Maybe they caught one fish over the limit, shot one duck over the limit etc.etc. I can't fault a sinner, when I'm a sinner myself.

From my interpretation of his post he is more likely a FORMER trespasser and poacher. Probably a lot of us on here could make the same claim.

I can say I never woulda thought it would have been you, you seem to try hard to be on the right side of the law.

You should be thankful to the good lord that you ran in to thoughtful, forgiving hunters/lease owners. This could have went a bad direction quick.

I feel certain you learned a good lesson, don't make what You did right, but at least you were man enough to admit you were in the wrong.

Good luck the rest of the season. And you owe that ole man a turkey.

the only thing you did right was to admit your mistake(s).

I just hope you can still take my bowfishing.

I wont get into your spur measurements being an 1/8th of an inch off, either. I wont kick a man when he is down.

"So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast the stone". - Bible
“You must teach your children that the ground beneath their feet is the ashes of your grandfathers. So that they will respect the land, tell your children that the earth is rich with the lives of our kin. Teach your children what we have taught our children, that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves.”

Coming clean is good for the soul. You poached, took an unethical shot, and got caught doing it. Owning it in front of all us peckerheads shows that you still have promise.
