    Default Hushpuppy recipe?

We had a fish fry this afternoon with several friends and their families. I have not been a big fan of Hushpuppies in the past but decided to cook some this time. I used House Autry hushpuppy mix, and followed the directions. They were OK, but I was curious if anyone had better recipe they could share.

Add some sweet corn to them.. Hot peppers do not belong in puppies, call them fritters or something. It's like calling coleslaw.. Slaw.

This mix had a slight onion taste, but not bad.

I did not think about corn, I bet that would help.

Bag of hush puppy mix, half an onion -chopped fine, can of rotel tomatoes ( drained ), 1/4 cup ketchup and about half a can of beer. Not necessarily a hush puppy any more, but damn fine eaten.

1 box of Jiffy cornbread mix, 1 can of creamed corn, 1 sliced jalapeno, 1 cup club soda.
Your riding a gravy train with biscuit wheels.

Put corn in them, like chitlins, to get the "full" effect?

It's not enough to simply tolerate the 2nd Amendment as an antiquated inconvenience. Caring for the 2nd Amendment means fighting to restore long lost rights.
