I dislike Obama as much as the next guy, but this is a symptom of the hospitals having bought the practices over the last several years.

    not true.

Hospitals buying practices and employing physicians have nothing to do with that. Hospitals are buying practices because physicians cannot make it any longer with the downward pressures on reimbursements coupled with the increased costs of running a business.

Effective April 1 they get another 2% cut. The problem is their staff will still want health insurance, beg for a raise, and insurance, taxes, and other operating expenses still go up, not down. Small practices are a thing of the past because in addition to these issues they cannot negotiate on a grand scale for supplies and/or managed care rates, so they are getting squeezed on both ends.

I buy practices every day. The docs cannot stand the rat race anymore. It is sad really, but it is what it is.

hehee, well i WAS going to recommend my wife(a nurse practitioner), but after talking to her, she say fuck that because her office sucks. Their customer service(in that office) is pretty bad. They aren't taking new patients unless she refers them anyway. But the ones they have are dying off pretty quickly.

Anyway, she said try the new AnMed office in Wren. AnMed is a big fucked company, but that office is small and not too crowded.

Check out prices for various procedures in a town where the hospital owns a majority of the physician practices compared to a town that has many independent diagnostic clinics and physician practices.....

The monopolization of community healthcare is in fact one of the problems with healthcare today.... It isnt the largest problem, but certainly a significant one. Sadly, the government has left doctors with few other options.

I stand by my earlier recommendation: http://www.poinsettfamilypractice.com/about-poinsett/. You might have missed it in all the banter.

I use Steve Newman. He is good.

Dang Snob, I've been going to Milestone for close to 15 years and have always had great service. The past 10 years with Dr. Melba. In a pinch, MD360 is a good place also, owned & run by GHS.

I would like a doctor over the age of 45, Male or Female, that runs a three man shop at the most, preferably 2.... no "super practices" with a dozen+ doctors.

    Thanks for your help.
15 minutes on hold? Sounds like an "old fashioned" practice without automated phones. Kind of like what you are looking for.
