    Default 26.2 miles

Is a long damn ways but I ran it today for my first and last marathon. Looked like a college athlete running out there. A 350 pound offensive lineman to be exact. But I did it. WooHoo for me. Not bad for a 52 year old with 5 bypasses.

Thats a REALLY big deal. Not just the 26.2 (that is a huge accomplishment) but the training it takes to get there and cross the finish line. It takes alot of heart to toe the line considering the training you had to put in. Never say never..... Give yourself some good rest and donlt lose what you have gained. Stick to running, maybe not what you have done recently though. Congratulations!!

Great job, I have run all my life and still not sure if I could do it right now.

5 hours 43 minutes. I did pass at least one little old lady so I wasn't last.

To put that in perspective..... That's a 13 minute mile for 26 miles. Outstanding!

This the run from Columbia to Charleston where everybody runs a certain mileage? I heard something about it from a family member if so.

That takes a ton of mental discipline to not give up for that length of time. Congrats.

Great job! It's a hell of an accomplishment just training for a marathon...let alone doing one. Congrats!

Thanks all. Think I might stick to half marathons from now on. The time consumed to train for a full took way too much time from hunting. Then again I am pretty sure I can better that time so who knows.

Congrats man. It annoys the shit out of me to see those 13.1 stickers on people's back windows. That's not an accomplishment, it simply means that they half-ass ran a marathon. Good on you.
