Anybody ever run any bush hooks? Just wondering what size hooks and what type of line do you attach the limbs? Don't know jack about it, but thought it might be some fun.

Fork Swamp is full of them... Stainless too.
4/0, weight, and twine should work fine. Just cut them and remove them when you are done...

Better check the regs depending on where you plan to do it, some areas require a permit and have some restrictions.
Nothing much to it though, best thing to do is put the hooks out right before dark, go build a fire and start drinking beer. Every few hours get up and go run the lines. The later in the night and the more beer consumed the better your chances of flipping the boat over, floating downstream where you get snagged on 3 or 4 of your hooks before getting up along side a log big enough to climb out on only to find a cottonmouth trying to get some shuteye on the other end! Great fun!
OSD this is what a night of bush-hooks/bush-lines will get ya!!
Good to talk, see you out there!
If you look very closly, the one on the left seems to be saying, "BSD is an asssssssss..."

Dukhntr, you ain't gotta use ivory soap that big, get you a bar of it and put in the oven on a pretty low temp and heat it up just enough to get it soft and then you can cut it up nice and make one bar go a long way, let me see if I can scare up another photo to give ya'll a lil better idea of da size of some of dem boys!

half inch x half inch or a lil bigger in a rectangle or square shape. It'll usually do about 30 lines or so. Heres another one...

Ok I'll bite....what's the ivory soap for? Bait?
Circle hooks?

Best thing about it is you don't really have to worry about rebaiting the whole weekend!

Wateree river 207 lbs this past June
More fuel = more boost!!
I take my soap and put it in the microwave for about 15 seconds then cut it up.. after I cut it up I take a small drill bit and place a hole in the center of it for my hook to go through. I just use carpenter twine. I use 1/2 inch pvc pipe about 2 inches long to put my name and address on and just roll the line up around the pipe when i am done. Damn good fun especially when you are half drunk..
The best time to do something is between yesterday and tomorrow
