yall, these are just FISH!!! who gives a damn how many someone wants to take home and clean. i have people that i work with that will take every fish i can get in a cooler, clean them and have my cooler cleaned and in my office when i walk in the next morning. you're damn right i give em all they can stand, because they dont have time to go or just dont want to.

if you can catch 50, keep 50 if thats what you want to do. hell, if you ever have to ask yourself whether you should keep ALL 50 FISH, then i dare say the area's population is in no immediate danger anyway. Choco, good luck getting another 50. post pics when you do.

Do you really think that there would be a law for a size limit on Cats if it wasn't warranted? I sure hope you are just as bad of a fisherman as you are a justifier...

in all seriousness, i am way worse at fishing. but i can stick a 12 foot gig in a fish 20' feet away, and if that does fail, well, i have the bow...

however, i feel compelled to share with you that i do not stick small fish unnecessarily, and when lucky enough to actually catch a fish the old fashioned way, i probably keep less than 10% of them. if the man had taken the pictures and thrown the fish to the birds, it would be one thing, but the fish were not wasted in this particular instance.

you call my reasoning "ignorant" and i do not contest your statement. i accept the reality of my ignorance in this, as well as a vast range of other topics, including, but not limited to, the overall population of a particular species of fish.

in my opinion, if the population were in any extreme peril, then you wouldnt be catching 50 fish...at least not without implementing a stick or two of dynamite

to clarify my stance on the situation, i do not support wasting any type of game animal, but i do believe in harvesting all you can put to good use...with that being said, NICE CATCH

I don't know about the dramatic decline in blues. Dad and I went out friday with four dozen shat at 7:30 and ran out of bait at 3:30. We absolutely slayed the blues. We had one fish that was 3lbs one that was 7lbs and the rest were ten to twenty one lbs. Best night of catfishing I've ever had. We got enough to stock our freezer for at least four family fish frys and we fed some gave the rest to some poor folks that live down the street. When we asked the man if he wanted some catfish for free, he came over with a dollar general sack. When he saw what we were going to give him, he freaked out. One of the girls came up, grabbed a fish and cried. She hadn't eaten in two days. I'm all for people who want to catch and release em, but I know too many people that a catfish or two will make their week to be letting em go when I may fish two months out of each year. Nice haul BTW. And for anyone thinking about giving them a try, they are on fire down at Marion right now.
