    Default hey computer nerds

how come my speakers arent working?

yes, I made sure they were plugged in and turned on. they just quit working a while back and now I need to watch a dental video and wouldnt mind hearing what they have to say.

is there a way to "troubleshoot" this on the computer thingie?

If I were there I'm sure I could help you get your "dental video" working with sound. Until then, I'm sure what they're saying in the "dental video" isn't as important as what they are doing in the "dental video".

You probably have volume control in two places....on the computer and on the speakers. make sure both are turned up.

speakers are on 100% in windows lower right corner of computer screen. red light is on front of speaker next to word "POWER." volume control on actual video is all the way up.

Pick it up and shake until the screen clears, this is called a "reboot".

Are you sure they are plugged into the correct port on the computer?

    You've shamed me into trying.

First of all, there are about a dozen places where things could have gone wrong. Embedded videos, like your dental video, have their own volume/mute controls. It's the first place to look.

Secondly, there is a overall volume/mute control in the bottom right (systray) of your computer screen. There may be icon that looks like a speaker. Single clicking that will pop-up the master volume control where you can adjust the volume and turn on/off the mute.

Double-clicking the speaker icon will bring up the mixer control that will allow you to adjust the volume/mute on the various inputs.

There could also be a problem with hardware drivers which are usually fixed by rebooting.

Try your ear buds so you'll know if it's the computer or the speakers. Will any other sounds work, like when it's booting up?

Go to "start", Click on your Control panel, click volume, and unclick the "mute" box. 10 4?

I doubt toof is as stupid as y'all are making him out to be. Well, maybe he is, he came here for support.

2th, carry it up to Silicon Solutions. You can get a newer and faster computer for a lot less than fixing that old Pentium.
