    Default Binoculars

    Anyone on here use Zen-Ray or Vortex optics? Im looking for the 8x43 range. Also how well do these optics compare with Swarovski, should I go ahead and buy a pair or go with these other cheaper brands?

    i asked the same question a few months ago about the zen-rays. a couple guys had first hand experience with them and liked them, and all the reviews i read online were good things. i ended up going with zeiss just because of the proven track record and customer service. i have no first hand experience looking through swaros, but i doubt the zen-rays or vortex (which i'm not familiar with) can stand up to them.

    here's the thread i started;

    while i'm sure the swaros are nice, i'm extremely pleased with the zeiss and can't imagine where i'd be in a situation where they wouldn't be up to par. maybe if i lived out west or in alaska where i'm glassing mountain sides, but for looking for a buck in a field at dusk and glassing the occasional waterfowl from a distance they work just fine.

    I have Swarovskis. I don't need to compare them to anything....

    I slowly worked my way through the lesser quality stuff on the first pair 14 years ago.. I won't ever own another brand. Save your money until you can buy the Swaros.

    They are that good.

    I got a pair of vortex diamondbacks in 12x50 this year and have been very pleased with the performance at that price point. I also liked the warranty they offer.

    Been looking hard at the ed3's. I really wish I could do a side by side comparison with the swarvoski EL's to see if its worth the extra $$.

    I've used a pair of Vortex Razors for three years and been pleased with them. They're bright and work well beyond the time my rifle scope is useful. It's one of the best gifts my wife has given me.

    You've been hanging around Bolt again, haven't you?

    I have a pair of Vortex Razor binoculars and a Motorola Droid Razr phone. Is this a sufficient description or do we need pictures?

    Wait until I get it operated on again at the end of February - I saw my Orthopod looking at a new boat Sunday. He's gonna need boat payments.
