The law never changed. DNR decided to enforce the existing law. The feds follow Clemson's guidelines for normal ag methods. They could have written tickets before DNR chose to enforce the law, but they chose to follow the lead of DNR.

This may not end in a new law now. It may force the proper law enforcement.

What resources did Clemson use to come up with that? Other schools and their state DNR say it is OK.

Did someone push Clemson's buttons to get that done?

    I prefer the term "people"

And dues to a dove club are a hell of a lot cheaper than putting out 100's of pounds a week for an entire dove season, counting all splits.

If anything this will raise club dues because then all the clubs will be putting wheat out as well.

Shit I am old. We used to cover a dove field for $10. We would disk a few rows and go at it.

We used to have late season morning hunts around Bowman with doves thicker than the flies at the dairy. And after we had limits the doves continued to come in. A lot of doves got free food.

Why not extend it out into the third season as well?

Where would the line be drawn? Could you only top sow a plowed field? How about over soybean stubble? Or a hay field? Or a dirt road? Or a cutdown? Or your front yard. When does it go from top sowing to baiting?

Allowing rabbit hunting at night would open up a lot of hunting opportunities for people who don't have dogs. Top sowing corn in April would really help with turkey hunting. I'd eat a lot more bass if I could gig them.

It just seems like taking the easy way. And this is from someone who has never paid or been paid for a dove hunt.
