Lol "claim down" that is going to be used for quite a while around here I can tell. Good placement.

WOW, that poor duck. I have said before and I will say it again. When I kill a duck worth mounting it is going to Shane.

What a joke...that's one of the worst I have ever seen. The whole damn thing is off. Head is deformed, neck is elongated and fucked, wings aren't set right, feet are the wrong color, his bill looks like a bunch of Mexicans airbrushed it some awful color. It's terrible. Did you not ask to see his past duck mounts?

I'm not specialist or anything but that doesn't look right.

i think its the same bird but just a below average mount. some taxi's are good with certain animals and some can do them all. he is not very good with birds. for taxidermist , refrence pictures are the number 1 key for producing a quality mount and knowing the anatony of the animal ( duck) is the second most important think a taxidermists needs to know. IMHO he missed on both points that i refered to . sorry about your mount but this was a great leason you learned .

I appreciate the feedback. The taxidermist is going to fix whatever I ask of him. I want the bill and feet done for sure, neck if possible. I will be taking the orginal picture, and one of another correctly mounted duck in the same pose (if I can find one).

The guy had credentials and was reccomended. His awards are for fish and deer, didn't see many ducks in his shop. At then end of the day it's just a mallard, and I learned a valuable lesson - see their work on ducks first.

im 100% sure that he is not capable of "fixing" anything about that duck even if he wanted to.

That shit looks like something on Looney Tunes! You need to throw that shit through his window and demand what ever you paid for it back. Good luck with it!

mount looks bad. I like your attitude about it. you will always have the memory, that's what is important. lesson learned...if it is worth putting on the wall for a lifetime its worth getting it done right. even if it is double the price, amortize that over 40 or 50 years and its irrelevant.

Sorry to tell you but the only thing he can fix on the duck is the bill and feet but they want be 100% fixed Either. Most taxis use artificial bills and inject the feet with a 2 part epoxie of some sort, so the only thing he will be able to do to the duck is paint them both . Birds are not like deer skins that are tanned and can be rehidrated , once they ducks are dry the are done and not much can be done after that. Sorry man

Print out the picture, place it in a frame and hang it where the duck mount should go.

I really hate that the mount didn't turn out well for you. It was a beautiful bird. But there will be more.

I have to put this photo back up just to get that image of the mount out of my head......

That was one stud of a duck.

I don't need my name in the marquee lights....
