I would throw a crank bait parallel to the bank and reel with the current. The fish are usually on the second weed line down about 4-8 feet. Keep the boat in close and both fisherman(if there are two) need to stand up front, otherwise the person in the back is out of it.

Jig and pig bounced off the bottom around the rice field breaks. Fish slowly. Strikes can be subtle or like a punch in the arm.

Tide is important in the Cooper. Try to hit low tide down river and move with it upstream. It's about 3.5 to 4 hours behind harbor tide at Pimlico.
