yeah that front and rain affected it a lot. i fished a small pond yesterday where i usually can go bust there heads and only caught 1, missed 3 on a frog (hate those F&*%&*^ things i always miss fish on them), but that was it..

Start using braid, a rod with backbone & a 5/0 wide gap......or just get better at detecting the strike.


I have had alot of luck with a double rig, a blacky followed with a 12" leader and a whitey.

ive been using 30lb braid and a preety stiff rod...i just have never had to let a fish eat a bait longer than a frog---(horny toad)

It correlates to floatin worm fishing, when he hits it, it doesn't take him long to figure it ain't real. I hit em hard and fast and lose most of them I try to "wait" on. If you are missing fish, they may just be short striking it, and then a phat trailor hook set up or the double rig is required. I just wish everyone and their momma wasn't chunkin em. They fish get smarter every day.

i know what you mean..they are everywhere and i remember when people thought i was crzy for throwing something like a frog...thanks for the advive dookie, ill try and stick'em quicker and se if that works...it just seems like in my experience if i wait a second or two then set the hook i catch more...i may try the double rig also...

I usually give them a second or two like a fluke...The won't spit that soft plastic out like they will a plug...imho
