Introduce legislation for turkey season to open 3-15. The %'s are 75% in favor of one date......the poll has spoken.

Have you discussed with DNR biologists?

Do all counties have the population to warrant?

    Have coyotees thinned the flock?

Near as I can see, the solutions that have been offered, you don’t want to hear. From what I can gather, most of the posters want the current laws enforced, not new ones added. Few want any kind of registry because they have the very real concern that eventually it would be used by someone to collect a fee or tax. You might not would do so, but I have been around enough to know that other peoples money to a politician is like crack to a junkie, there just ain’t never enough. My personal test for anything or anybody I vote on is, will it take another dime out of my pocket. If the answer is yes, then my answer is no. A registry for ATVs or stolen ATVs has the potential to take more money out of my pocket so my answer would be no.
Like others have said, if you want to stop criminals from being criminals, make the penalty for being a criminal worse than the reward. Lock them up. If they are career criminals, then lock them up for a long time. I would be happy to vote for tougher penalties. Or, if you are dead set on starting a registry for stolen stuff, make that part of the penalty for getting caught stealing stuff. Part of their probation costs could go to a fund to pay for registering stolen stuff as well as the cost of identifying who the legal owner is and returning it to them.

I told ya'll 48thousand post ago I have no intentions of starting a bill to attempt to help. I watered down the solution much farther than it has any chance of helping.

Get a dog, buy insurance, lock it up, install microchips, and start a fund for your next one.

We have always known how to deal with thieves, ATV's are no different than horses.
How many horse thieves that got caught got a second chance to steal another horse?

The legislation won't accomplish anything without enforcement, and looking for stolen property is a low priority. If they happen to stumble across the shirt while making some other kind of bust you might eventually get notified. HCPD called TWO years after mine was stolen to ask if I had found it so they could clear their books. Y'all pass laws to look like you are trying to accomplish something. Enforce what's on the books, and quit looking easy bandaid fixes.
