Just like the title says - for anyone... Started to put this in the vehicle section, but I think this applies to more than that, so here it is.....

Just like the title says - for anyone that's either built a garage or been thinking about it, give me some ideas of things you wouldn't do without - and yes, I know what that can lead to with this crowd. Been around far too long to think it'll stay between the ditches.

Anyhow....

I've got a 24x24 detached garage with a 10x15 addition on the back, making it 24wx34deep on the left side, which is where I'm adding another 24wx32deep (2' setback along the front). Gable on the 32' side (90deg from the current shop). They will share a wall, which is the left side today. The current side shares my woodworking assets and my car project, as well as my big tool box, work bench, etc. Plan is to give the car project it's own area, so cue the 24x32.

The existing side is stick built with exposed 2x4 walls and open trusses above, but the new side will be insulated/drywalled/trimmed/painted with a cathedral/vaulted ceiling on 9' walls to make room for a 2-post lift. Also stick-built. It gets a 18x7 garage door to match the one on the existing side, but it will also have a 36" man door and window on the left side. Garage door will track against the cathedral ceiling so it doesn't compete with whatever is on the lift.

So.....here's what I'm thinking but I want to know all the contingencies I haven't necessarily considered:
- Receptacle spacing and placement for things you wouldn't necessarily think about. I know I want one on each of the front and left side exterior walls.
- 60gal compressor will move from the front right corner to the shared wall in the old side because it'll have to feed both halves. I want drops for it on each of the new walls. I have an oiler/dryer that will need to be re-plumbed. I also want a dedicated dry line for painting.
- 220v for a blast cabinet. Do I drop a 220v on the other walls for any future needs?
- Power supply for the 2-post lift - do I run it through conduit in the concrete? Anybody ever done something like this?
- Work station on the back wall - rolling toolbox with work station/drawers. Parts washer.
- Mini split (what size?)
- 2 interior gables to work with.....one gets a TV, but what about sound? I have surround sound in the current shop. Do I do another dedicated setup for the new side or just run a sound bar with the TV?
- Epoxy floor DIY - been looking at the Gorilla product. It appears to be more durable than the Rustoleum (even their higher grade one).
- LIGHTING - what's the best lighting for a space like this? Been thinking about flush-mount 2x4' LED's. Will 6 of them be enough?

Can't have too many receptacles or light fixtures has been my finding so I'm taking that into consideration on this build. I want to get it as close to right as I can on the first shot since sheetrock and such will be in the way.
