I have a 92 Yamaha 115 that's lived most of its life on the coast. The steering started getting hard a couple of years ago and I figured it was the cable, again. I put a new one in it about 15 years ago. We were down a few weeks ago and I couldn't turn the motor at all. Disconnected the cable at engine and helm/cable are free.

I couldn't get it to take any grease and then managed to break the zerk off.

I'm going to drill and tap for new zerk and then try to force some penetrating oil in to break up the old grease. Someone suggested heat, but not real keen on that.

Any experience/ideas?
