Much to her dismay, our bird season came to an end today. Callie drops puppies next week, but had one last hunt in her this morning.
I had an hour or two I could afford to burn before heading into work and she made it count. She worked a hair slower than normal but otherwise just wouldn’t quit. The spot we chose was a fairly easy spot for a pregnant dog and I was hoping birds would be there. Sure enough, she found them and it was a memorable last hunt to end it on.
It’s been another great year so far behind her, but now hanging it up for a few weeks. Maybe she’ll be up to getting back in the upland woods in February.
