I attended a conference a few years ago and the guest speaker was Ed Viesturs.
He is the first American, and 12th person overall, to summit all fourteen mountains over 8000 meters (known as the eight-thousanders). He's the fifth climber to do it without bottled oxygen. He has climbed Everest 7 times and is a total BAD ASS. If you ever get a chance read one of his books...you won't be disappointed.
It takes a special kind of person to do that stuff and my hats off to them.
I take an PLB in the shower with me. Can't ever be too safe.

Somebody should install one of them pull rope things to get people up to the inner tubes. Sounds kind of risky right now just to take a ride down a slope.

This story to me is amazing. Most people don't know what great measures mother nature has in store for us. these people pushed there bodies to the limit ending there life, but they died doing what they always wanted to do. hike, and reach the summit of the mountain. one day I would like to attempt the climb Mount Everest. not making it to the top of coarse. But to see the challenges that these people faced and how great and powerful nature can be.
