Congratulations!
Congratulations!
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

Helll Yeahhh!!! I was pumped about my federal banded black duck I shot this year in the Outer Banks. This rite'cheer makes mine look like a SCWA band. LOL
Congratulations again Doug. For SC, that is beyond words for a Duck Hunter!
That's awesome Doug! Thanks for sharing your story of killing that duck and everything else that goes along with the Jack Miner band.

That's like the Super Bowl or Crystal Football National Campionship trophy.
That would indeed be going to a professional frame shop if it were mine.
Congratulations again Doug!
You've got one life. Blaze on!
Welcome to the club.... Congrats!
Either write things worth reading, or do things worth writing.
They go all out! That's badass!!
Back in the stone ages, (before Al Gore invented the internet) the process was
1. be lucky enough to kill a banded bird.
2. Mail in the info via a letter and stamped envelope.
3. Wait for the COA sent from the Bird Banding Lab (later the USGS) to arrive in the mail.
Lots of anticipation - sometimes it took months.
Then I got the hookup on a contact at Laurel, MD and she would look up the numbers and tell us over the phone. Still had to wait for the COA to be mailed. ( same contact also helped us expedite getting numbers recovered off old, worn or otherwise illegible bands).. and get them returned.
Instant gratification now.. times they are a changin.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

Tremendous!
I was fortunate to kill a Jack Miner banded Wood Duck in 2007 and got the certificate and the data sheet on my duck but did not receive the commemorative plaque. Did that coe with the package you recieved?[ATTACH]25336
