Id start with a 15 of some sort.

    I agree. I'd start with something like a 11.5 in X 15 pitch.

I think the 60 uses a K Series prop, not an 11.5" prop?

If it does ive got a 15p aluminum prop that can be tried to get a baseline if you're close by

Yup, 4.25" gear case with 15 splines. K series is the correct prop for that motor.

Keep in mind, if a 17pitch 3 blade ran well and you went to a 4 blade you'll probably need to go down to a 15 or 16 pitch. The 4 blade will be a tad slower but more fuel efficient due to reduced slip. Mine grips in the turns better with the 4 blade, and speed is not a huge deal so I pretty much run the 4 blade all the time now.

from the 1860 jack plate? (60 yam) discussion:

the tach is only reading like 1800-1900 @ WOT, but accurate @ idle, so thinking it's probably set on 1 cylinder mode & that my real WOT is more like 5400??

plenty of holeshot, the prop wants to blow out when i trim it all the way up, it's a stainless stiletto 13x17, very round blades, not at all shaped like a semi-cleaver prop...thinking with the jackplate i'd see better performance a semi-cleaver?? obviously fix tach first for accurate WOT RPM reading
all advice appreciated, will run again tonight hopefully with properly functioning tach & report back

    5100 with the 17p

5700 with a 15p (additional info in the jack plate thread here: http://scducks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=162643&page=2)
