I know a guy who makes them out of hardware cloth for $40, but they work. Note that it is currently illegal to use them, but I think they are working on changing that. There is a legal loophole though.

There is a tackle shop just before you hit the keys, maybe in Florida City. It's a dump, but they had some nice coated wire traps in there last time I was there.

He's talking about the big ones likely, size of crab traps. Last time I was at Academy, they had traps the size of a shoe box. Did they have the big ones (4 doors)?
