Default Finally Got My Alligator Back

It took about a year to get the head and hide back. I'm happy with the results. That hide is soft and smooth as well worn leather. Everyone asks what am I going to do with it and I don't know.

    Looks good.

That's exactly why I wanted an gator, just for the tanned hide. Like you, I don't have a clue what I would do with it, though.

That hide is rolled up and put away. I really don't know what to do with it, apparel wears out and its too big to just layover a couch something. Anyway left out it would probably be destroyed by the kids.

Keep it in the closet. Roll it out in front of the fireplace for anniversaries and "special occasions"

Looks great. Do you mind me asking what is costs to get the hide tanned like that? I'd get some kick-ass boots or something made if I were you. A purse for the wife might get you some brownie points as well.

I had a 10 footer tanned by Specialty Leather Processors (http://specialtyleather.com/)
and it cost around $200 shipping included. Took about 3 weeks. Highly recommend them. They can tan it in all different colors also.

Reel, that is really cheap....wish that's all I paid. Anyway the hide was about $600 and the head was $350. I won't ever do another one but I still like it.

I used specialty leathers and paid about 170 for a 8.5 footer. They have the best prices that i could find, and everyone ive recommended them too has been pleased.
