What's the best place to hit between Knoxville and Asheville? Clinch or Holston in Knoxville or somewhere in the mountains?

Float section of the Holston is great. If you need to borrow a bote, holler.

For HUGE browns in the winter, you simply can't beat the Clinch...

Cherokee is worth the money in the off season.

The holston is a wonderful river, but a float takes planning, double vehicles, and all that jazz. I thought he was traveling and just wanted to hit good water close to the interstate.

The clinch is mean winter stream, not really close to the interstate though.

I would take my arse to Sylva and fish the tuck, 20 minutes off forty, and park the truck where you wanna fish. the chances are great for alot of fish, and big fish.

I will be on the holston late in september, you gonna let me steal the hyde for the weekend?

Just a small note, so as not to waste time....North Mills has been poached clean and the Tuck has maybe 1 fish left since it became open season in June... it will fish better starting in Oct. when they close it for delayed harvest.
“You must teach your children that the ground beneath their feet is the ashes of your grandfathers. So that they will respect the land, tell your children that the earth is rich with the lives of our kin. Teach your children what we have taught our children, that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves.”

Not that I disagree entirely about the hatchery streams taking a beating in the summers......(btw it is not poaching since they let you keep the fish June thru Oct), however I took a small group to the tuck august 24th-25th, we did well on dry flies, and caught small mouth.
